The debate over the "best movie of all time" has raged for years, but one film has finally emerged as the clear winner.
This timeless masterpiece has made cinematic history not once, but twice, and continues to capture the hearts of viewers across the globe each time it's played. Since its release in 1994, the film has won six Academy Awards and, according to Film Stories, brought in a gigantic box office total of $678 million worldwide.
This feature follows a young "intellectually disabled" man (portrayed by Tom Hanks) as he navigates through historical events, hardship, love, friendship, war, and the sheer simplicity of life amid a series of unexpected twists. After all, life is like a box of chocolates-you never know what you're going to get!
So what exactly is the greatest movie ever made?
According to a list compiled by The Top Tens, the best movie of all time is Forrest Gump.
Other highly-acclaimed motion pictures that made the list include The Godfather (1972), The Dark Night (2008), The Shawshank Redemption (1994), and Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980) to round out the top five.
