Greene County man faces felony drug charges after Saugerties traffic stop

From Saugerties Police:

Date of Incident: 01/11/2020

Charges: Criminal Possession of a Controlled substance in the 4th Degree (FELONY); Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, and , Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC more than .08%

Narrative of What Occurred:

On January 11, 2020 at 05:37am, Saugerties Police arrested 28-year-old Dillon Gilbert of Greene County on the Misdemeanor Charge of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, after police observed Gilbert run a red traffic light on S/R 32.

Incidental to his arrest, Gilbert was found to be in possession of two plastic baggies, one containing Psilocybin mushrooms and the other a quantity of Marihuana.

Gilbert was processed at Saugerties Police Headquarters on the Felony charge of Criminal Possession of a Controlled substance in the 4th Degree, and the Misdemeanor charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree and Driving under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC of .12%.

Gilbert was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Saugerties Justice Court on January 22, 2020 to answer his charges.
