One Corrections officer was taken to Albany Med, and two others received minor injuries, last Friday, after a 27 year old inmate allegedly attacked them at Greene Correctional Facility in Coxsackie.
According to NYSCOPBA,a 27-year-old inmate was told by a corrections officer to leave the facility’s mess hall. The inmate refused to leave and attempted to punch the officer. Two additional officers attempted to assist. One officer was hit several times in the head and a second officer was hit several times in the face during the attack.
The inmate is from Monroe County, serving a five year sentence.
