MISSING ELIZAVILLE MAN’S BODY FOUND
Elizaville, NY- Columbia County Sheriff David P. Bartlett reports that late this afternoon, the body of Mr. William Amato was located on the Dutch Hollow Farm property in Stuyvesant.
This investigation and search for William Amato began on December 5, 2019 when his vehicle was located on the farm and a family member reported that he was not seen since the evening hours of December 4, 2019.
Sheriff’s Deputies and Investigators responded back to the Dutch Hollow Farm today when Mr. Amato was discovered deceased on the property.
After the discovery of the body, Sheriff’s Office Investigators notified next of kin. Coroner Bertram also responded to the scene. An autopsy will be scheduled at Ellis Hospital.
At this time, it does not appear that there is any foul play with the death of Mr. Amato; however, the investigation is continuing and Sheriff’s Office Investigators are awaiting the autopsy results.
There will be no further information released at this time.
