A SECOND MAN HAS BEEN INDICTED IN THE
2017 SHOOTING DEATH OF KEVIN WHITENING
ON THIRD STREET IN HUDSON. THE COLUMBIA
COUNTY D.A.'S OFFICE REPORTS 24 YEAR
OLD DI-QUANN POWELL WAS ARRAIGNED
WEDNESDAY ON MURDER, ASSAULT, AND
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY CHARGES. ANOTHER MAN,
CHRISTIAN SIMMONS HAS ALREADY BEEN
CHARGED IN THE CASE.
ALSO IN COUNTY COURT, TWO HUDSON
RESIDENTS, WHO WERE PICKED UP IN A MARCH
DRUG RAID ON FREDERICK STREET, WERE
SENTENCED. 66 YEAR OLD RENELL HARRINGTON
WILL SERVE TWO YEARS IN PRISON AND 50
YEAR OLD REBECCA COOK GOT FIVE YEARS
PROBATION. BOTH WILL HAVE TO PAY
RESTITUTION.
A WOMAN WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL
YESTERDAY AFTERNOON, FOLLOWING A ONE
CAR ACCIDENT IN LIVINGSTON. FIRE
AND RESCUE CREWS WERE CALLED TO MAPLE
LANE AFTER HER CAR STRUCK A TREE.
SHE WAS REPORTED TO BE IN AND OUT
OF CONSCIOUSNESS.
A ONE CAR ACCIDENT BROUGHT NIVERVILLE
FIREMEN TO WEST SHORE DRIVE WEDNESDAY.
A 37 YEAR OLD WOMAN HAD MINOR INJURIES,
AFTER HER CAR LEFT THE ROAD AND
CRASHED IN THE BUSHES.
FIRE DESTROYED A CAR IN CHATHAM
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. THE VEHICLE
WAS FULLY INVOLVED WHEN FIREFIGHTERS
ARRIVED ON THE SCENE, AT A HOME
ON PAYN AVENUE, JUST AFTER 5:30.
THERE WERE NO REPORTED INJURIES.
MONEY IS ON THE WAY TO GREENE AND
COLUMBIA COUNTIES, TO HELP WITH
THE HOMELESS. COMMUNITY ACTION
OF GREENE COUNTIES IS SCHEDULED
TO RECEIVE 300,000 DOLLARS FROM
THE STATE, TO HELP SECURE PERMANENT
HOUSING, AND HELP WITH SERVICES.
TODAY IS DAY 6 OF EARLY VOTING.
POLLS ARE OPEN TODAY FROM 9 TO 5
IN HUDSON, VALATIE, COPAKE, AND
CATSKILL.
THE VILLAGE OF CATSKILL WILL HAVE
A CURFEW TONIGHT FOR HALLOWEEN.
CATSKILL POLICE SAY, ANYONE UNDER
18 MUST BE OFF THE STREETS AFTER
9, UNLESS THEY ARE WITH A PARENT.
THE CURFEW REMAINS IN EFFECT
UNTIL 6 FRIDAY MORNING.
