Philmont man arrested on Attempted Murder charge

On October 27, 2019, at approximately 12:30 am, SP Livingston responded to a report of a shooting at a party on Waldorf Ridge Rd., town of Copake.
At the scene, Troopers and and Columbia County Deputies encountered a large group of young people at the residence, and a male subject with numerous gunshot wounds.
The preliminary investigation revealed on the night of October 26, the homeowner hosted a Halloween party for several friends. Throughout the night, the party grew to more than 60 guests as it was advertised on social media. During the party, an argument between attendees broke out and the victim was shot several times with a handgun.
The victim was treated by Copake Rescue and transported to Albany Med via Life Net helicopter
The investigation led investigators to the suspect’s residence, where he was taken into custody on Sunday night.
Jesus Figueroa, 26, Philmont, was charged with Attempted Murder 2nd degree, Class A Felony and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, Class C Felony.
Figueroa was charged and arraigned in the town of Claverack Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail without bail, awaiting further proceedings.
The victim is currently in stable condition in Albany Medical Center.
The State Police at Livingston were assisted by the city of Hudson Police Department, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Columbia County DA office, Copake Rescue and Copake Fire Department.
