Huge Chatham party frightens neighbors, ends with large police presence

This quiet country road in Red Rock, town of Chatham, was a whole different scene Saturday night.

Neighbors along Clark Road called police after a large party got out of hand.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office says an Airbnb was rented by a group of U-Albany Students for a party.

Around 1000 showed up. The Sheriff's office says they were first called for a noise complaint. The needed to call for more support and assistance from State Police.

Neighbors reported a lot of intoxicated people and a lot of garbage dumped all over the road.

They went on to say how quickly police were able to get things under control and shut the party down.

The garbage along the road has since been cleaned up, but neighbors aren't so sure what condition the house was left in.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office says they are still "sorting out the events of the night" and have no arrests to report this morning, however the investigation is still open.
