A two car accident on the Catskill side of the Rip Van Winkle Bridge has created a backup westbound that stretches more than 3 miles.
The accident happened around 3:15. Catskill Fire and Ambulance checked out the occupants. Any injuries were minor.
Westbound traffic on Friday always backs up at the traffic circle, but with today's accident, the backups stretched well past Middle Road along Route 23, and backed up as well on Route 9G
