On September 24, 2019, the New York State Police from the Rhinebeck barracks arrested Andria D. Alukonis, age 37, of Gloversville, NY, for two counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2nd degree, Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree, and Identity Theft in the 1st degree, all class D felonies.
On August 16, 2019, Troopers responded to the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union for a report of fraudulent checks. Two checks drawn from separate victim banking accounts in the amounts of $2,000 and $2,800 dollars were found to be forged. Investigation also revealed the checks were reported stolen from vehicles in the Saratoga Springs area of NY.
Further investigation determined the Alukonis, while engaged in “Felony Lane Gang” activities was responsible for fraudulently cashing the checks. She was located in Washington County by State Police Investigators where she was arrested for similar crimes, and held at the Washington County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 secure bond.
Alukonis is next scheduled to appear before the town of Rhinebeck Court on October 3, 2019, at 4:00 p.m.
The New York State Police in Troop K were assisted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the New York State Police from Troop G and Troop F, and the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office.
The New York State Police advise the “Felony Lane Gang” is active in the Hudson Valley. Citizens should avoid leaving their identification documents, banking cards, or check books in their vehicles.
