A Hudson man plead guilty this morning to 2nd degree assault, a felony, in the July assault at 2nd and Columbia Streets.
Sentencing for Lance Fongemie is scheduled for December 5th in Columbia County Court.

On Tuesday, July 16 2019, at around 5:39pm, the Hudson City Police Department located and arrested Lance Fongemie of Hudson, NY for Assault 2nd Degree, a class D Felony.
Lance Fongemie was arraigned in Hudson City Court by Judge Herman. The defendant was remanded to jail on $1,000 cash/bail returnable to Court on July 18, 2019 at 830am.
Fight on North 2nd Street
On Monday, July 15, 2019, at approximately 7:42pm the Hudson City Police Department received a transferred Columbia County 911 call reporting a “fight in progress” in the area of North 2nd and Columbia Street.
HPD patrols responded to the scene. Witnesses reported that they observed two adult male subjects having a verbal argument in the street, which turned physical. Initial reports indicate that no weapons were used. One of the subjects, who appears to have been the victim, was seriously injured and transported to the Columbia Memorial Hospital by the Greenport Rescue Squad. The second subject left the area prior to police arrival at the scene.
The victim was later taken by ambulance to Albany Medical Center for additional medical treatment. We are told that his injuries are non-life threatening.
The Hudson Police Department is currently investigating this incident with the assistance of the Columbia County DA Paul Czajka.
A video of the incident was captured by a citizen and turned over to the Hudson Police Department. Police have identified both the victim and the suspect.
