Bridge tolls are expected to increase. Toll collectors may be eliminated

At yesterday's meeting on the New York State Bridge Authority, two major items came out of the meeting.

1) Tolls are likely to be going up, however the increase amount and start date were not indicated. Currently we're paying $1.50 or $1.25 with EZpass. The last increase was in 2012.

2) They also want to switch to an All Electronic toll system, meaning there would be no more toll collectors. No date has been set for that goal either.

in addition to the Rip Van Winkle, the bridge authority manages Kingston-Rhinecliff, Mid-Hudson, Newburgh-Beacon, and Bear Mountain bridges.
