Eight years ago today, Hurricane Irene Hit Greene and Columbia Counties, with devastating heavy rain that flooded the mountaintop in Greene County.
No areas were spared, however Prattsville, Windham, and Tannersville took the brunt of it.
There were many areas of Columbia County that were hit too, but nothing like Greene.
The rain began late in the day August 27th, however with it raining all night, August 28th was the worst of the two days for residents.
