Want to buy a library?, one for sale in Claverack

From Claverack Library:

On October 26, 2019, The Claverack Free Library will move into its new facility next door to its current location at 629 State Route 23B in the heart of the historic hamlet of Claverack.

Thus, The Claverack Free Library (CFL) is entertaining requests for proposals to lease or purchase the current property where it has resided since the 1930’s.

The library, designed by architect Lucius Moore, consists of two principal rooms, totaling 1385 sq. ft. The main reading room has a Palladian window, fireplace, built-in shelves, and barrel ceiling; a later addition has a small lavatory and stairs to basement. The lot size is 0.54 acres.

A new oil burner was installed in September 2016. The building is connected to town water, has plans for a new septic system, and is broadband accessible. There are 3 dedicated parking spaces, with an additional 3 possible. Sharing of the adjacent library parking lot may be possible. The property is zoned for Hamlet Business.

Our goal is to find someone who loves libraries and is willing to share the lawn with us for our twice-yearly book sales and occasional programs, usually for children and in the summer months, mostly on weekends.
