Route 9G and Route 23 Lane Closures Expected

Town of Greenport, Columbia County

Motorists are advised that various lane closures are expected on Route 9G northbound at Route 23 and Route 23 westbound at Route 9G beginning Monday, August 12 at 7 p.m. through Tuesday, August 13 at 7:00 a.m., while crews perform construction activities, weather permitting.

Motorists are also advised that various lane closures are expected on Route 9G northbound at Route 23 and Route 23 westbound at Route 9G with Route 9G access closed, beginning Tuesday, August 13 at 7 p.m. through Wednesday, August 14 at 7:00 a.m., while crews perform construction activities, weather permitting. Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour.

Motorists should anticipate delays and plan accordingly.

Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
