Hillsdale, New York – On July 9, 2019, the New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested Thomas P. Golden, age 35, of Copake, NY, for Kidnapping 2nd Degree, a class B felony, and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, a class A misdemeanor.

On July 8, 2019, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Troopers responded to a domestic dispute on Whippoorwhill Road in the Town of Hillsdale. A subsequent investigation determined that Golden had used physical force, and threatened the use of deadly force, to abduct the victim. After several hours in captivity the victim was able to flee to safety, and contacted the State Police. Golden was found and taken into custody at an address located on Route 23 in the town of Copake.

Golden was arraigned before the town of Claverack Court, and remanded by the Honorable Justice Brandon to the Columbia County Jail without bail. Golden was ordered to next appear in the town of Hillsdale Court on July 12, 2019, at 6:00 p.m.
