Berkshire Farm Center staff member arrested for sexual abuse

PRESS RELEASE

Canaan, New York – On June 21, 2019, the New York State Police from the Livingston Barracks arrested Kelli R. Wagers, age 39, of Philmont, NY, for two counts of Criminal Sex Act in the 2nd degree, a class E felony, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor, and two counts of Sexual Abuse in the 3rd degree, a class B misdemeanor.

On June 17, 2019, State Police Investigators were alerted by Berkshire Farm Center and Services for Youth staff of possible sexual abuse by an employee. Investigation determined Wagers, employed as a clinician at Berkshire Farm Center, committed two sexual acts and instances of sexual abuse, with a victim under the age of 17-years-old while at the facility.

Wagers was arraigned before the town of Livingston Court, and remanded by the Honorable Judge Weaver to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 secure bond. Wagers is next scheduled to appear before the Livingston Court on June 26, 2019, at 5:30 p.m.
