Philmont swimming acc. Patient refuses treatment, Helicopter leaves empty

A man in his 30's was injured this afternoon, following a swimming accident at High Falls Conservation Area in Philmont.

The accident happened just after 4. We're told the man hit his head after jumping. He was reportedly conscious but not alert.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office tells us, Greenport Rescue ordered a lifenet helicopter to take the man to Albany Med, However, sometime around the helicopter landing at Claverack town park, the man refused medical treatment, telling medics that he would get to Columbia Memorial himself to be checked out.

The lifenet helicopter left Mellenville without a patient.
