Greene County jail opponents, going to protest again Thursday

The group opposed to building a Greene County Jail will take their next protest on the road.

They are scheduled to hold a protest Thursday on the million dollar staircase at the state capitol.

They're hoping to pressure lawmakers into passing a bill that would allow Greene County to share a jail with a neighboring county, which it can not do now.

The protest is scheduled for 10am.

We spoke with Greene County Legislature Chairman, Patrick Linger, who said construction has not begun yet. The last day of the legislative session is the same day as their next meeting. He said, if anything changes in Albany, it will be brought up next Wednesday night.
