Alligator is back home in New Lebanon

Kobe, the 6 foot alligator that was reported stolen last week from a New Lebanon home on Cemetery Road is back home.

The owner, Rhonda Leavitt reported that he was recovered Sunday from a neighbor's property.

We spoke with Columbia County Sheriff David Bartlett, and as of now, there are no charges filed against anyone, however they are still investigating.

SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATING A BURGLARY IN THE TOWN OF NEWLEBANON

New Lebanon, NY – Sheriff David P. Bartlett reports members of his Office are investigating a Burglary of a residence on Cemetery Road in the Town of New Lebanon.

Reported stolen is an Alligator that is approximately 6 foot in length. The burglary is reported to have taken place on May 25th in the early evening hours.

Identifying marks include a scar on face, tip of tail missing and hole in one of the back web part of foot, not sure which side.

The owner of the residence is both licensed and permitted to possess the alligator.
