Community First holds graduation today

Community First at Columbia Greene Community College, now in its seventh year, awarded completion certificates to 26 community members enrolled in the College Experience program on Thursday

Graduates from CoARC, Hudson High School, and Cairo Durham High School were recognized. Each has learned career, life and transition skills, over 14 weeks, to continue their success in our communities, through courses lead by members of the Columbia, Greene, and C-GCC communities. Courses included Creative Writing with instructor Allen Kovler, Study Skills with Associate Professor Nicole Childrose, Exploring our World with Assistant Professor Rebecca Pinder, and many others.

C-GCC Associate Professor Dawn Defino, program coordinator, explained that Human Service degree candidates at the college work with the College Experience students as well, learning and demonstrating valuable career skills that Human Service employers require.
