Two C-GCC Students Named to Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society

ALBANY – Columbia-Greene Community College students Olivia Pagano of Palenville and Riley Werner of Valatie have each been named to the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) New York All-American Academic Team for 2019. 

The Phi Theta Kappa Award recognizes outstanding community college students throughout the state, who demonstrate “academic excellence and intellectual rigor combined with leadership and service that extends their education beyond the classroom to benefit society,” according to the PTK website.

Pagano, an Individual Studies major, and Werner, a Humanities major, were honored along with other at a ceremony held this year at the Albany Capital Center on Wednesday, April 24. The event is sponsored annually by New York Community College Trustees, the New York Community College Association of Presidents, and the Faculty Council of Community Colleges.
