State Police investigate discovery of human remains in Stuyvesant

***Update: Stuyvesant, New York – The New York State Police in conjunction with the Columbia County Corners Office and East Greenbush Police Department have positively identified the remains located on Schodack Island as those belonging to David Burden, aged 64 years, of East Greenbush.

David Burden was reported to have gone missing on November 4, 2018 to East Greenbush Police. His vehicle was located partially submerged at Schodack Island State Park shortly after, but no signs of David.

This investigation will be turned over to East Greenbush Police Department, and all future inquiry should be directed to EGPD at (518) 479-2525. ***

Stuyvesant, New York – On April 29, 2019, the New York State Police investigated the discovery of human remains on Schodack Island in the town of Stuyvesant.

At approximately 6:00 p.m., human remains were discovered by two men fishing near Schodack Island, who notified the State Police.

The investigation remains on-going at this time pending autopsy results, and positive identification of the deceased. Updates will be provided when available.
