On Wednesday we posted a story with information that was provided to all media by State Police, that turned out to be incorrect.
The information given to us said that 19 year old Steven Kipp of Craryville had been arrested for a felony sex crime.
We contacted State Police on Thursday and spoke with public information officer Aaron Hicks, who checked into the posting. He told us that they had accidentally listed the wrong charge for the arrest and Mr. Kipp was actually charged with violating an order of protection, and released on an appearance ticket for Philmont Town Court. He went on to say, the error was on their end and apologized.
We are also apologizing for posting the information, that we believed at the time to be accurate.
