The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office confirms that Michael Vanyo was charged with DWI on Saturday, and leaving the scene of an accident on Maple Avenue in Wilton.
Vanyo is the superintendent of Ichabod Crane Central School district.
Because of this, the school district is announccing on it's website, that there will be a special meeting tonight to discuss the situation:
We would like to update the community on a situation that took place over the weekend.
The Board of Education and District Administration of the Ichabod Crane Central School District have been advised of the charges involving District Superintendent Michael Vanyo, relating to allegations of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and other offenses.
We understand the serious nature of these allegations and have called a Special Meeting of the Board of Education for this evening (April 8) at 5 PM in the High School Library to discuss the matter further.
