HUDSON, N.Y. -- After placing second in the state last year, Columbia-Greene Community College has returned to the State University of New York's Annual Mascot Madness competition with a strong, early showing.
C-GCC's official mascot, Rip Van Winkle, has just advanced to Round Three, the Elite Eight, after besting the University at Albany's dual mascots Pedwin and Damien by a slim margin in Round Two.
Mascots advance by earning the most votes in an online poll -- anyone can vote for their favorite mascot once every 24-hours, and may use multiple email accounts to cast multiple votes. All votes must be confirmed via email, and links may be found at SUNY's Big Ideas blog: https://blog.suny.edu.
Round Three voting will run from Friday, March 29 at 12 p.m. until Tuesday, April 2, at 3 p.m., with C-GCC competing against SUNY Canton's Roody Roo. Mascot Madness will continue with the Final Four,Wednesday, April 3 to Friday, April 5, and the Finals,Tuesday, April 9 to Thursday, April 11.
