Fire tears through home in town of Claverack

Fire caused extensive damage to a home in the town of Claverack early Tuesday morning. The first call came in just before 4 at 139 Lockwood Road.

Over half a dozen fire companies responded.

Fighting the fire was tough due to it's location, on the top of a hill, and the cold temperatures.

We're told the occupants got out, and the cause is believed to be accidental, however it is still under investigation.

No reports of injuries.

Firefighters were on the scene for over five hours.
