Hudson traffic stop turns up 350 doses of heroin, stolen handgun

Felony Drug Arrests – Stolen Handgun

On Friday, March, 8 2019, the Hudson City Police Department arrested 37 year old, DORIAN CARR of Hudson along with AUSTIN CARR, 24 yrs old and, MALEEK SINGLETON, 25 years old both of Brooklyn, NY on the following charges;

Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a class C felony,

Criminal Possession of a controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, a class B felony,

Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree, a class E felony

At around 8:16 pm this evening, the Hudson City Police Department and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office observed Dorian Carr operating a grey 2018 Ford Mustang convertible in the vicinity of the Bliss Towers Apartment building, 41 N. 2nd Street. A traffic stop was conducted on Columbia Street. Within the car officers and deputies located a children’s toy that had secreted inside it approximately 350 individual doses of heroin and a loaded .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver. Detectives determined that the revolver had been stolen from Lexington County, South Carolina.

Maleek Singleton was convicted on May 6, 2014 of Robbery 3rd (D Felony) in Westchester County Court. Dorian Carr was convicted of DWI in Hudson City court on April 18, 2018, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th (D felony) in Warren County Court on October 31, 2002. Dorian and Austin Carr are cousins.

This short-term drug investigation involved the combined forces of the City of Hudson Police, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, the Capital District Drug Enforcement Task Force, Assistant US Attorney’s Office Northern District, and the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office. This investigation is open and continuing.
