A three vehicle accident shut down the Rip Van Winkle Bridge Friday night. The crash happened just after 6:30, near the Columbia & Greene County line, When two cars and a pickup collided.
Greenport Fire and Rescue responded. Fire official said one patient was taken to Albany Med, another to Columbia Memorial.
Traffic was backed up in both directions for miles.
Greenport Police investigated.
