Man who had 11 pounds of pot in Coxsackie, going to prison

From Greene County D.A.’s office:

People v. Jawon DiCarlo: Defendant was sentenced to 1 ½ years plus 2 years post release supervision for his conviction of Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 3rd Degree.

In January:

People v. Jawon DiCarlo: Defendant was convicted of the Felony of Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 3rd Degree. He will be sentenced at a later date.

PRESS RELEASE

Coxsackie, NY – On May 31, 2018, at approximately 4:57 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87, in the town of Coxsackie for a vehicle and traffic violation. During the interview of the driver for the traffic violation, probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established. The driver, Elvyn M. Colon, age 33, of Bronx, NY, and his passenger Jawon J.Dicarlo, age 38, of Schenectady, NY were found to be in possession of approximately 11 pounds of marihuana. Both men were taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Albany, where they were subsequently charged with: 

  • Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 1st degree; a Class C Felony (Colon and Dicarlo)
  • Violation of Parole; a Class E Felony (Dicarlo only)
  • Vehicle and Traffic Violation (Colon only)

Both Colon and Dicarlo were arraigned in the Town of Coxsackie Court and remanded to the Greene County Jail. Colon in lieu of $10,000. Cash or Bond Dicarlo in lieu $20,000. Cash or Bond. No return court date available at this time.
