Ghent man arrested for menacing his neighbor with a machete

Ghent, New York – 

On January 9, 2019, the New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested Albert J. Dalton, age 52, of Ghent, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, and Menacing in the 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor. 

On January 9, 2019, Troopers responded to an address in the town of Ghent for a 911 call reporting a man armed with a machete who was threatening a neighbor. Dalton was found in possession of the machete, and was taken into custody without incident. 

Dalton was arraigned in the Claverack Town Court, and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond. Dalton was ordered to appear in the Ghent Town Court on January 14, 2019, at 6:00 p.m.
