‘’Light a Candle, Ring a Bell as a Prayer for Peace”

Press Release:

Hello Friends and Neighbors!

Thirty years ago, the Mountaintop Interfaith Committee was formed to bring people of all faiths together on the mountaintop to share in the joy of the season.

This year, for the first time in 18 years, we will not be able to have a regular Thanksgiving Interfaith Service. Because of the need for social distancing due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, an in-person service is just not possible.

The Interfaith Committee is asking residents to connect as a community with a call to rejoice from home across the mountain top.

Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at precisely 7:00 PM we all

‘’Light a Candle and Ring a Bell as a Prayer for Peace”

Join us all -from wherever you are.Inside or out- all while being socially distanced. If you don’t have a bell, just join in and make a joyful noise. If you don’t have a candle, bring a flashlight outside and let your light shine!

Now more than ever, let us all gather in peace and let the light on the mountaintop shine as one.

Donations are also welcome- Even though we are unable to have an in-person service this year, the needs of the community still exist. We will be collecting donations for the KUMC Food Pantry until the end of December.

Please make your checks payable to KUMC Food Pantry and put “Interfaith Offering” in the memo line.
