City of Kingston
• Identity theft:Veronica Reyes, 29 of Poughkeepsie, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, and was charged with identity theft and possession of a forged instrument, both felonies. Reyes was arrested after police were contacted by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles regarding a possible license forgery. Police said a dealership in Ulster County had submitted paperwork to DMV to transfer a title and register a vehicle. The buyer, Reyes, was contacted by the DMV about a possible error with the paperwork and when she arrived at the DMV office in Kingston, she allegedly presented a forged driver license as identification that contained her image. Authorities said the client ID number was from another operator’s license. Reyes was arrested at the DMV and released with a ticket for Kingston City Court.
Cairo
• DWI:Matthew P. Chernaski, 52, of Windham, was arrested by state police at Catskill at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol content at or exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeanors. Chernaski was released with tickets for Cairo Town Court.
Catskill
• Drugs:Evan M. Kravitz, 39, of Hudson, was arrested by state police at Catskill in the town of Catskill at 4:28 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, and was charged with manufacturing drug-related paraphernalia and criminal use of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. Kravitz was released with tickets for Catskill Town Court.
Milan
•DWI:Phillip J. Roosa, 42, of Red Hook, was arrested by state police at Rhinebeck at 1:37 a.m. Nov. 1 and was charged with aggravated drunken driving, a felony, and with misdemeanor drunken driving. Further information was not immediately available.
Rhinebeck
• Endangering:Islam Nasla, 20, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested by state police at Rhinebeck at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, and was charged with endangering the welfare of an incompetent person, a felony, and with assault with physical injury, a misdemeanor. She was released with tickets for Rhinebeck Town Court.
Rosendale
• DWI:Devon M. Vanorden, 27, of Amsterdam, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 8:43 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol content at or exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeanors. Vanorden was released with tickets for Rosendale Town Court.
Town of Ulster
• Grand larceny:Tressa M. Karkowski, 31, of Kingston, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, and was charged with grand larceny of property valued at more than $1,000 and possession of a forged instrument, both felonies. Further information was not immediately available.
• Bail jumping:Olya J. Vallerella, 25, of Saugerties, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, and was charged with bail jumping, a misdemeanor. Vallerella was released with a ticket for Ulster Town Court.
