CCPR Announces Soft Opening of Recovery Community Outreach Center
Ghent, NY July 17, 2020:Since 2016, Columbia County Pathways to Recovery (CCPR) has been the county’s Recovery Community Organization, providing the community with information, resources and referrals for those affected by substance use disorder, as well as operating a Recovery Helpline 7 days a week, 9am to 9pm, which now serves Columbia and Greene Counties. CCPR’s Acting President Lori Antonson is excited to announce that they have recently signed a lease on a space in Hudson NY to open a Recovery Community Outreach Center (RCOC), fulfilling a long-awaited goal of the organization.Lori stated, “The opioid epidemic continues to dramatically impact Columbia County. Therefore, we are excited to be able to provide a safe, judgement-free space for the community to receive non-clinical support services and life skills trainingin the development of self-care and self-management, including peer-led mutual aid groups; family support and resources; linkage with community resources and vocational services; community service opportunities and sober events; and health and wellness activities such as yoga, meditation, coffee drop-ins, movie nights, karaoke, and community game nights.”
The “soft opening” of the RCOC will take place on Saturday July 25, from 11 am to 4 pm at 2 Milo Street, Hudson.Coffee and refreshments will be served, and tours of the space and details of their programs will be given.PLEASE WEAR YOUR MASK!
Due to the COVID-19 distancing restrictions, the RCOC is not yet able to be fully operational, so in the meantime they maintain a list of online virtual support options available to the community to help people stay connected to recovery supports and minimize self-isolation. The Recovery Helpline, operated in part with generous financial support from the Columbia County Board of Supervisors, is staffed by recovery volunteers, is available 9am to 9pm 7 days a week, and can be reached by calling 877-HOPE-365. (877-467-3365).All calls are confidential with non-judgmental, compassionate individuals waiting to assist you.Volunteers provide detox/rehab placement, referral services, and offer support, compassion and assistance to people as they navigate their journey to recovery. This is not a crisis line.More volunteers are always welcome, and calls can be answered from their own location without traveling to an office.
CCPR is a 501(c)(3) not for profit based in Ghent. Their mission is to provide comprehensive resources for those impacted by the crisis of substance use disorder.They offer hope, awareness, advocacy, education and pathways for those who seek support, relief and recovery. Their goal is also to change the conversation concerning substance use from one of shame, isolation, and judgment to one of collaboration, respect and the honoring of the individuals and families engaged in this struggle.They invite any and all to unite with them in this endeavor to break the stigma and join in their solution-focused efforts.
