Mid-Hudson Valley arrests report: May 19, 2020

According to the Daily Freeman, here are the arrest from May 19th!

Catskill

Sexual performance:Peter J. Lentz, 37, of Catskill, was arrested by state police at Catskill on Friday, May 5, and was charged with seven counts of possession of a sexual performance by a child, all felonies. The state police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Troop F Computer Crimes Unit allegedly found pictures of child pornography on Lentz’s computer. Lentz, who is a registered sex offender, is currently serving his eighth year of a 10-year probation sentence for sex abuse and possession of child pornography. He was issued appearance tickets for Catskill Town Court.

Hudson

Drugs:Keith E. Sorrentino, 42, of Catskill, was arrested by state police at Claverack at 8:15 p.m. Monday, May 18, on South Third Street and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), a felony. He was issued a court appearance ticket.

Lloyd

• DWI:Benjamin J. Imondi, 60, of Monroe, was arrested by Lloyd town police on Friday, May 15, on U.S. Route 9W in Highland and was charged with misdemeanor drunken driving following a property damage car crash. Imondi was released with a ticket for Lloyd Town Court.

Rhinebeck

• Contempt:David A Gravino, 27, of Red Hook, was arrested by state police at Rhinebeck at 6:48 p.m. Monday, May 18, in the town and was charged with misdemeanor contempt of a court order. Further information was unavailable.

Saugerties

• Drugs:Christopher P. Rega, 28, of Josephs Drive, Saugerties, was arrested at 5:27 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, in the parking lot of Dunkin' Donuts on Ulster Avenue in the village and was charged with misdemeanor possession of a hypodermic instrument. The arrest followed a report from a pedestrian of a male slumped over the wheel of a vehicle in the parking lot. Upon officers' arrival, Rega was allegedly found in possession of a hypodermic needle. He was released with an appearance ticket for Saugerties Village Court.

Southeast

Drugs:Peter A. Wenzel, 39, of Poughkeepsie, and Joseph C. Wayman, 33, of Saugerties, were arrested by state police at Brewster on Sunday, May 14, following a traffic stop on Interstate 84 at 9:15 p.m. Wenzel was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, and bail jumping, all felonies, and criminal impersonation and false personation, both misdemeanors. Wayman was charged with possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors. Police said Wayman, the driver, possessed a small amount of heroin with a child in the vehicle, and that Wenzel was found with 1.76 grams of cocaine, 1.35 grams of crack cocaine, and 172 grams of heroin. Police said Wenzel initially provided police with false information about his identity, as there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Wenzel was arraigned in Putnam County Court and released pending an appearance in Southeast town court. Wayman was issued an apeparance ticket for Southeast town court.

Wappinger

Theft:Michael P. Cawley, 30, of Clintondale, was arrested by state police at Wappinger at 11:35 p.m. Monday, May 18, and was charged with grand larceny (credit card), a felony, and identity theft to obtain goods, a misdemeanor. He was held pending a court appearance.
