Here are some events that recently have been canceled due to COVID-19 for the local area:
- Hudson Valley Flag Day
- Hudson Memorial Day Parade and Serivce
- Chatham Legion Memorial Day Parade
Hudson Valley Flag Day: “We know that due to these specific circumstances we have to take into consideration the safety of all and continue to take precautions in our professional and personal lives,” Committee President Christine Grossman said in an April 17 press release.
Hudson Memorial Day Parade and Services: “The Memorial Day Committee and I ask that on Memorial Day, you take a moment to say a prayer to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives for the freedoms we enjoy today. We look forward to next year and if you fly the American Flag, remember, let the flag fly at half-staff until noon on Memorial Day. At noon, the flag again is raised to the peak of the flag pole, where it remains until it is lowered for the day. Thank you for your past support and God Bless,” Committee Chair Ed Coons said in a press release.
Chatham Legion Memorial Day Parade: “Since the inception of the American Legion a century ago, Post 42 has joined the community in remembering and honoring our fallen military veterans with public memorial ceremonies,” Commander James Garvey said in a press release.
