Mid-Hudson Valley Arrests Report

The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system:

City of Kingston

• DWI: Phillip A. Stevens, 31, of Accord, wasarrested by state police at Ulster at 1:45 a.m. Sunday, March 1, on North Front Street and was charged with drunken driving, a misdemeanor. Stevens was released with an appearance ticket for Kingston City Court. 

Catskill

• DWI: Kayla M. Bremiller, 23, of Catskill, was arrested by state police at Catskill at 4:10 a.m. Sunday, March 1, on state Route 23A and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol content exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeanors. Bremiller was released with an appearance ticket for Catskill Town Court. 

Hunter

• DWI: Branden R. Didonna, 32, of Hunter, was arrested by state police at Hunter at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, March 1, on Scribner Hollow Road and was charged with drunken driving (previous conviction in 10 years) and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle (alcohol), both felonies. Didonna was released with an appearance ticket for Hunter Town Court. 

New Paltz

• DWI: Israel Martinez, 25, of Marlboro, was arrested by state police at Highland at 4:57 a.m. Sunday, March 1, on South Manheim Boulevard and was charged with drunken driving, a misdemeanor. Martinez was released to a third party pending a court appearance. 

Saugerties

• DWI: Michael J. Romano, 37, of Saugerties, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 1:13 a.m. Sunday, March 1, on U.S. Route 9W and was charged with drunken driving, a misdemeanor. Romano was released with an appearance ticket for Saugerties Town Court. 

• DWI: Alexander E. Myers, 29, of Saugerties, was arrested by state police at Coxsackie at 2:32 a.m. Sunday, March 1, on state Route 32A and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol content exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeanors. Myers was released with an appearance ticket for Saugerties Town Court. 

• Resisting arrest: Brian J. Ciarlante, 29, of 158 Hilltop Road, Saugerties, was arrested by Saugerties Police at 12:48 a.m. Sunday, March 1, outside Mirabella's Bar and Restaurant in the village and was charged with obstruction of governmental administration and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors; and harassment, a violation, in connection with an incident that occurred in a municipal parking lot behind the restaurant. Police, responding a report of a male harassing a female in the parking lot, determined that the female victim was inside the restaurant when she was shoved by Ciarlante. Authorities said Ciarlante subsequently threw a shot glass and hit the victim with it. When she tried to leave the bar, Ciarlante followed her into the parking lot, police said. When officers tried to interview Ciarlante, he tried to elude officers, refused to comply with their verbal commands and tried to flee on foot. Once police caught up with Ciarlante, he resisted arrest, police said. Ciarlante was taken into custody, processed at Saugerties Police headquarters, and released with an appearance ticket for Saugerties Village Court.
