COLUMBIA-GREENE COUNTY NEWS 12-23-19

A LIVINGSTON WOMAN WAS TAKEN TO NORTHERN

DUTCHESS HOSPITAL EARLY FRIDAY MORNING, AND

IS LUCKY TO BE ALIVE. ACCORDING TO FAMILY

MEMBERS, SHE FELL AT THE MAILBOXES OF MAPLE

LANE TRAILER PARK AROUND 2 IN THE MORNING

AND LAID IN SINGLE DIGIT TEMPERATURES FOR

TWO HOURS, UNTIL ANOTHER CAR CAME BY AND

RESCUED HER.

A FLORIDA MAN WAS CHARGED WITH DWI SATURDAY,

AFTER HIS CAR LEFT ROUTE 385 IN ATHENS, AND

CRASHED INTO THE WOODS. THE CRASH WAS JUST

AFTER 6:30. STATE POLICE SAY, JOHN BRADY WAS

NOT INJURED.

SEVERAL HOURS EARLIER, FIRE AND RESCUE

CREWS WERE CALLED TO ROUTE 385 IN

ATHENS, WHEN A CAR STRUCK A TREE IN

THE AREA OF WALTZ LANE. A 66 YEAR

OLD MAN WAS INJURED IN THAT CRASH.

A MULTI-CAR ACCIDENT BROUGHT CANAAN

FIRE AND CHATHAM RESCUE TO ROUTE 295

AND COUNTY ROUTE 5 SUNDAY MORNING. THE

ACCIDENT WAS JUST BEFORE 9:30.

A 72 YEAR OLD MAN WAS INJURED SUNDAY

AFTERNOON IN A SKIING ACCIDENT AT HUNTER

MOUNTAIN. A HELICOPTER WAS REQUESTED

TO THE SCENE. THE MAN WAS CONSCIOUS AND

BREATHING.

A CAR WAS DAMAGED SUNDAY MORNING, AFTER

IT CAUGHT FIRE ON THE THRUWAY. CATSKILL

FIREFIGHTERS WERE CALLED TO THE NORTHBOUND

LANES AROUND 9:15.

CATSKILL FIREFIGHTERS ALSO RESPONDED TO

A RESIDENCE ON SOUTH JEFFERSON AVENUE

EARLY YESTERDAY MORNING, WHEN A VACUUM

CAUGHT FIRE. IT WAS PUT OUT QUICKLY.

WITH TWO DAYS TO GO, THE HUDSON SALVATION

ARMY NEEDS TO RAISE 7000 DOLLARS MORE,

TO REACH THEIR RED KETTLE GOAL. THEY'RE

ASKING FOR THE PUBLIC'S HELP TODAY AND

TOMORROW.
