FIRE MONDAY AFTERNOON AT PINE HAVEN NURSING

HOME IN PHILMONT. SEVERAL FIRE COMPANIES

RESPONDED JUST AFTER 5:30, AFTER FIRE BROKE

OUT IN ROOM 25 ON THE NORTH WING. THE

FIRE WAS QUICKLY PUT OUT, IN A HEATING

UNIT, AND THE BUILDING WAS VENTILATED.

FIRE OFFICIALS SAY A FEW PEOPLE WERE

CHECKED OUT FOR SMOKE INHALATION.

ANOTHER BAD ACCIDENT IN CATSKILL MONDAY.

THIS ONE WAS ON ROUTE 23A NEAR TOOL HOUSE

ROAD. IT HAPPENED JUST BEFORE 3. THE

JAWS OF LIFE WERE NEEDED TO GET THE

OCCUPANTS OUT, WHEN THEY WERE AIRLIFTED

TO ALBANY MED.

SEVERAL PEOPLE WERE INJURED IN A

THREE CAR ACCIDENT YESTERDAY MORNING

IN CLAVERACK. THE CRASH CLOSED ROUTE

66 AT STOTTVILLE ROAD. ONE OF THE

VEHICLES ENDED UP IN A SWAMP.

A HUDSON MAN WAS TAKEN TO THE COLUMBIA

COUNTY JAIL, AFTER ALLEGEDLY ATTACKING

A WOMAN IN GREENPORT. THE COLUMBIA

COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE CHARGED 44

YEAR OLD MICHAEL SWEATT WITH ASSAULT,

STRANGULATION, AND CHILD ENDANGERMENT.

A PENNSYLVANIA MAN IS IN THE GREENE

COUNTY JAIL, ACCUSED OF HAVING A

STOLEN CAR IN CATSKILL. 40 YEAR OLD

RANDY PEPPER WAS ARRESTED BY VILLAGE

POLICE IN CATSKILL COMMONS. BAIL WAS

SET AT 5000 DOLLARS.

HUDSON DPW CREWS WERE ON THE SCENE

OF A LARGE WATER MAIN BREAK MONDAY

AFTERNOON. THE 4 INCH MAIN RUPTURED

ON THE EAST END OF WASHINGTON STREET.

WE'RE TOLD THE PIPES ARE WELL OVER

A HUNDRED YEARS OLD. THERE WAS NO

BOIL WATER ORDER ISSUED.

THREE COLUMBIA COUNTY FARMS WILL

SPLIT OVER 60,000 DOLLARS IN

GRANTS FROM THE STATE. TINY HEARTS

FARM IN COPAKE, COMMON HANDS FARM

IN GERMANTOWN, AND "ON THE FARM"

WERE ANNOUNCED YESTERDAY BY THE

GOVERNOR'S OFFICE, FOR THE NEW

FARMER'S GRANT FUND.
