JURY SELECTION IS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN TODAY

IN THE MURDER TRIAL OF A HUDSON MAN. 28

YEAR OLD MOHAMMED MORSHED IS ACCUSED OF

SHOOTING A 19 YEAR OLD FROM PHILMONT ON

FAIRVIEW AVENUE LAST JUNE. THE TEEN DIED

AT COLUMBIA MEMORIAL.

TWO COLUMBIA COUNTY MEN WERE ARRESTED

BY STATE POLICE OVER THE WEEKEND ON WEAPON'S

CHARGES FROM SEPARATE INCIDENTS. 19 YEAR

OLD KEVIN MAHONEY OF GERMANTOWN WAS CHARGED

WITH MENACING AND CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A

WEAPON AFTER AN INCIDENT ON CHURCH AVENUE.

AND 30 YEAR OLD THOMAS OZGA OF NEW LEBANON

WAS CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF

A FIREARM, FROM AN INCIDENT IN MAY.

A CHATHAM MAN FACES CHARGES AFTER A

DOMESTIC INCIDENT IN THE VILLAGE. THE

COLUMBIA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE SAYS 26

YEAR OLD JERMAINE WILLIAMS IS ACCUSED OF

STRIKING AND CHOKING A WOMAN, AND PREVENTING

HER FROM LEAVING THE RESIDENCE. HE'LL

ANSWER THE CHARGES IN COURT.

TWO PEOPLE WERE TAKEN TO COLUMBIA MEMORIAL

SATURDAY MORNING, AFTER A TWO CAR ACCIDENT

IN GHENT. THE CRASH WAS JUST BEFORE 10:30

ON ROUTE 66 AT GEORGE ROAD.

OTHER ACCIDENTS OVER THE WEEKEND THAT

BROUGHT AN EMERGENCY RESPONSE, WERE ON

MAIN STREET IN HUNTER, ROUTE 32 IN

FREEHOLD, AND IN THE NORTHBOUND LANES

OF THE THRUWAY IN CATSKILL.

THE FORMER HUDSON POLICE STATION

GOES UP FOR AUCTION THIS AFTERNOON.

IT TAKES PLACE IN THE COMMON COUNCIL

CHAMBERS BEGINNING AT 3. BIDDING

WILL START AT 300 THOUSAND DOLLARS.

GREENPORT TOWN PARK WILL BE CLOSED

TO THE PUBLIC TODAY. THE TOWN SAYS

CREWS FROM ORKIN WILL BE SPRAYING

THE FIELDS TODAY. THE PARK WILL

RE-OPEN TOMORROW MORNING AT 8:30.
