UP TO SEVEN PEOPLE WERE INJURED IN A

TWO CAR ACCIDENT SUNDAY AFTERNOON IN

GREENVILLE. FIRE AND RESCUE CREWS WERE

CALLED TO ROUTE 81 NEAR COUNTY ROUTE

75 JUST AFTER 12:30. STATE POLICE

INVESTIGATED. THE ROAD WAS CLOSED

WHILE CREWS WORKED.

OTHER ACCIDENTS OVER THE WEEKEND THAT

BROUGHT AN EMERGENCY RESPONSE, WERE

ON VANDENBURG ROAD IN CANAAN, ROUTE

82 IN TAGHKANIC, ROUTE 9 IN STOCKPORT,

AND BUTTERMILK FALLS ROAD IN ATHENS.

IT'S MEMORIAL DAY. PARADES ARE

SCHEDULED THIS MORNING IN HUDSON

GERMANTOWN, VALATIE, PHILMONT, AND

CHATHAM IN COLUMBIA COUNTY.

AND IN GREENE COUNTY, IN CATSKILL,

CAIRO, COXSACKIE, ATHENS, AND

GREENVILLE.

IS HOLDING A MEMORIAL RIDE TODAY,

IN HONOR OF FALLEN GREENE COUNTY

SHERIFF'S DEPUTY KEVIN HAVERLY.

THE RIDE LEAVES CAIRO TOWN PARK

AT 11 AND ENDS LATER IN THE DAY,

IN ATHENS. HAVERLY LOST HIS LIFE

TWO YEARS AGO, WHEN HIS POLICE

CRUISER CRASHED ON THE MOUNTAINTOP.

A DOMESTIC INCIDENT IN NEW LEBANON

ENDED WITH A TOWN MAN UNDER ARREST.

38 YEAR OLD JAMES LONG WAS CHARGED

BY STATE POLICE WITH CRIMINAL

OBSTRUCTION OF BREATHING, CRIMINAL

MISCHIEF, HARASSMENT, AND CHILD

ENDANGERMENT.

A CHATHAM MAN IS CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL

CONTEMPT, ACCUSED OF VIOLATING AN

ORDER OF PROTECTION FROM COLUMBIA

COUNTY FAMILY COURT. 22 YEAR OLD

TOMAS SIMPSON WAS ARRAIGNED IN

CHATHAM COURT, AND BROUGHT BACK TO

THE COLUMBIA COUNTY JAIL, WHERE HE

IS BEING HELD ON ANOTHER CASE.
