TWO PHILMONT RESIDENTS ARE UNDER ARREST

IN CONNECTION WITH A HOME INVASION IN

THE VILLAGE SUNDAY. THE COLUMBIA

COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE SAYS IT

HAPPENED ON MAIN STREET AROUND 9:30.

27 YEAR OLD DUHAMEL JOHNSON IS

BEING HELD ON 5000 DOLLARS BAIL, AND

A 16 YEAR OLD MALE WAS RELEASED,

PENDING A FAMILY COURT APPEARANCE.

POLICE MAY BE LOOKING FOR A THIRD

SUSPECT.

AFTER BEING CALLED TO A BURGLARY

IN CATSKILL, A PURLING MAN WAS

ARRESTED BY VILLAGE POLICE. 56 YEAR

OLD DANIEL DEMPSEY WAS CHARGED WITH

CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF STOLEN

PROPERTY AND BURGLARY. HE WAS HELD

ON 5000 DOLLARS BAIL.

WITH A JURY IN PLACE, THE SEXUAL

ABUSE TRIAL OF A HUDSON MAN

BEGINS TODAY IN COLUMBIA COUNTY

COURT. 28 YEAR OLD ZACHARY BRAY

WAS ARRESTED BY HUDSON POLICE IN

JANUARY FOLLOWING AN INVESTIGATION.

THEY SAY, THE VICTIM WAS 12 YEARS

OLD.

A 17 YEAR OLD WAS RUSHED TO

ALBANY MED MONDAY AFTERNOON, FOLLOWING

AN ATV ACCIDENT IN CAIRO. THE CRASH

HAPPENED AROUND 5:30 ON FRANK

HITCHCOCK ROAD. THE TEEN SUFFERED

A BROKEN LEG, WITH SEVERE BLEEDING.

A GROUP THAT'S OPPOSED TO A PROPOSED

INCINERATOR ASH DUMP IN AN ABANDONED

CATSKILL QUARRY, MET WITH COMMUNITY

MEMBERS IN ALBANY YESTERDAY. "WHEELABRATOR

TECHNOLOGIES" IS APPLYING FOR PERMITS

WITH THE EPA. THE ASH WOULD COME

FROM THREE TRASH INCINERATORS, IN

POUGHKEEPSIE, HUDSON FALLS, AND

PEEKSKILL. A PUBLIC MEETING ON

THE PROJECT IS SCHEDULED FOR

APRIL 23RD AT THE CATSKILL COMMUNITY

CENTER, BEGINNING AT 7.

165 CERTIFICATES WILL BE AWARDED THIS

MORNING AT THE M.C. SMITH INTERMEDIATE

SCHOOL IN HUDSON, FOR THE DARE PROGRAM.

OFFICER JAKE HOFFMAN WILL MAKE THE

PRESENTATION. HOFFMAN WAS INVOLVED

IN AN ACCIDENT LAST MONTH IN THE

DEPARTMENT'S DARE CAR, WITH ANOTHER

MAN, WHO WAS ALLEGEDLY HIGH ON DRUGS.
