THE DRIVER OF A TRACTOR TRAILER

HAULING MAIL WAS KILLED SUNDAY MORNING,

AFTER HIS TRUCK REAR-ENDED ANOTHER

TRACTOR TRAILER ON THE THRUWAY

IN CATSKILL, AND CAUGHT FIRE. THE CRASH

WAS JUST AFTER 5:30 IN THE NORTHBOUND

LANES. THE OTHER DRIVER WAS TAKEN TO

THE HOSPITAL. STATE POLICE ARE

INVESTIGATING.

FIRE AND RESCUE CREWS WERE ON THE

SCENE OF A ONE CAR ACCIDENT LAST

NIGHT IN PURLING. ONE PERSON WAS

TRAPPED, WHEN A CAR ROLLED OVER ON

MOUNTAIN AVENUE NEAR THE BAVARIAN

MANOR.

TWO PEOPLE WERE TAKEN TO ALBANY

MED SATURDAY MORNING, AFTER A CAR

STRUCK A TREE ON ROUTE 9H IN WEST

GHENT. THE CRASH WAS JUST AFTER

9:30 AT OLD POST ROAD.

ROUTE 9J IN STUYVESANT WAS CLOSED

FOR SEVERAL HOURS SATURDAY AFTERNOON,

WHEN A MINI VAN BROUGHT DOWN A

UTILITY POLE AND WIRES. THE ACCIDENT

HAPPENED AROUND 4.

A 64 YEAR OLD MAN WAS RESCUED

SATURDAY AFTERNOON, AFTER BREAKING

HIS LEG WHILE HIKING IN GREENE

COUNTY. RESCUE CREWS LOCATED THE

MAN, ABOUT A MILE AND A HALF UP

THE HUCKLEBERRY POINT TRAIL IN

TANNERSVILLE.

AN ATHENS MAN WAS CHARGED WITH

FORCIBLE TOUCHING BY STATE POLICE,

FROM AN INCIDENT REPORTED MARCH

25TH. 22 YEAR OLD ANTONIO FUENTES

WAS GIVEN APPEARANCE TICKETS FOR

TOWN COURT.

GREENE COUNTY FIREFIGHTERS WERE

ON THE SCENE OF THREE VEHICLE

FIRES OVER THE WEEKEND. THEY WERE

ON ROUTE 9W IN COXSACKIE, ROUTE

23 IN WINDHAM, AND SCHOHARIE

TURNPIKE IN CAIRO.

THE RIP VAN WINKLE BRIDGE IS

REMINDING MOTORISTS THAT THEY

WILL CLOSE THE BRIDGE TO TRAFFIC

FOR 10 MINUTES, BEGINNING AT 10

THIS MORNING.
