A 51 YEAR OLD MAN DIED TUESDAY MORNING,

AFTER HE WAS STRUCK BY AMTRAK TRAIN 69

IN STOCKPORT. STATE POLICE SAY, DAVID

SOKA HAD COMMITTED SUICIDE. THE SCENE,

ON STATION ROAD, WAS CLOSED FOR SEVERAL

HOURS DURING THE INVESTIGATION.

A SCARY SCENE ON THE THRUWAY IN CANAAN

YESTERDAY MORNING, AFTER A TRACTOR

TRAILER STRUCK A STATE DOT TRUCK IN

A CONSTRUCTION ZONE, IN THE WESTBOUND

LANES. FOUR WORKERS WERE TRANSPORTED

TO THE HOSPITAL, ANOTHER TWO WERE TREATED

LATER AT A SERVICE AREA. THE TRUCK DRIVER

WAS TICKETED FOR FAILURE TO MOVE OVER.

TRAFFIC WAS BACKED UP FOR A MILE IN

BOTH DIRECTIONS, AFTER THREE VEHICLES

COLLIDED TUESDAY MORNING ON THE RIP

VAN WINKLE BRIDGE. THE CRASH WAS JUST

BEFORE 8 WITH A JEEP, MINI VAN, AND

BUS. ONE PATIENT WAS TAKEN TO

COLUMBIA MEMORIAL.

A 49 YEAR OLD WOMAN HAD MINOR INJURIES

AFTER TWO CARS COLLIDED YESTERDAY

AFTERNOON. CATSKILL FIRE AND AMBULANCE

RESPONDED TO ROUTE 23 AND 385 JUST

BEFORE 4.

IT WAS A BRUSH FIRE THAT BROUGHT

CLAVERACK FIREFIGHTERS TO 516 SPOOK

ROCK ROAD TUESDAY MORNING. AN AREA

WAS BLACKENED NEAR VAN DEUSEN ROAD.

A NIVERVILLE MAN WAS TAKEN TO THE

COLUMBIA COUNTY JAIL, ON FELONY DRUG

CHARGES, AFTER A TRAFFIC STOP ON

COUNTY ROUTE 28. THE COLUMBIA COUNTY

SHERIFF'S OFFICE SAYS 48 YEAR OLD

WILLIAM HINES ATTEMPTED TO CONCEAL

AND DESTROY THE HEROIN AND COCAINE

HE HAD IN HIS POSSESSION.

A HUDSON WOMAN IS ACCUSED OF TRYING

TO BRING BRASS KNUCKLES INTO THE

COLUMBIA COUNTY COURTHOUSE. 33 YEAR

OLD HEATHER BADERTSCHER IS SCHEDULED

TO APPEAR TOMORROW IN CITY COURT.
