IT'S DAY TWO OF JURY SELECTION

IN THE RE-TRIAL OF JEFFREY BARMEN

IN COLUMBIA COUNTY COURT. THE

STOCKPORT MAN IS FACING RAPE

CHARGES IN KINDERHOOK. HIS FIRST

TRIAL, LAST NOVEMBER, ENDED IN

A HUNG JURY.

NORTHBOUND TRAFFIC ON THE NEW YORK

STATE THRUWAY WAS BACKED UP FOR

MILES MONDAY AFTERNOON, AFTER A

TRACTOR TRAILER AND CAR COLLIDED

BETWEEN CATSKILL AND COXSACKIE.

FIRE AND RESCUE CREWS RESPONDED

JUST AFTER NOON. THE OCCUPANTS OF

THE CAR WERE TRAPPED FOR A PERIOD.

ONE PERSON WAS TAKEN TO COLUMBIA

MEMORIAL YESTERDAY MORNING, AFTER

A CAR STRUCK A UTILITY POLE IN

GALLATIN. IT HAPPENED ON SILVERNAILS

ROAD, NEAR THE DUTCHESS COUNTY LINE.

QUICK WORK BY AREA FIREFIGHTERS

SAVED A COPAKE HOME EARLY MONDAY

MORNING. FIVE FIRE COMPANIES WERE

CALLED TO 168 ROUTE 7A JUST AFTER

1 FOR A PORCH FIRE. FIREMEN WERE

ABLE TO CONTAIN THE FIRE TO SOME

FURNITURE.

IT WAS A SHED FIRE THAT BROUGHT

FIREFIGHTERS TO ROUTE 23C IN

EAST JEWETT LAST NIGHT. SEVERAL

COMPANIES RESPONDED AFTER 8:30.

THE BUILDING WAS DESTROYED.

TWO PALENVILLE WOMEN WERE CHARGED

WITH CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE BY SAUGERTIES

POLICE. 47 YEAR OLD TERRIE CARNEY

AND 48 YEAR OLD JAMIE VANVALKENBURG

WERE ARRESTED, AFTER A COMPLAINT

OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE.
