UTILITY COMPANIES HAVE BEEN WORKING

THROUGH THE NIGHT, RESTORING POWER TO

THOUSANDS OF CUSTOMERS ACROSS COLUMBIA

AND GREENE COUNTIES. AROUND 1500

CUSTOMERS ARE STILL IN THE DARK THIS

MORNING, MOST OF THOSE ARE IN GREENE

COUNTY.

FIRE DAMAGED A HOME IN LEEDS MONDAY

MORNING. THREE FIRE COMPANIES WERE

CALLED TO 460 VEDDER MOUNTAIN ROAD

JUST AFTER 5:30. THE RESIDENTS

WERE ABLE TO GET OUT OK. FIRE

OFFICIALS SAY THE CAUSE IS NOT

SUSPICIOUS.

FIRE AND RESCUE CREWS WERE ON THE

SCENE OF TWO ACCIDENTS YESTERDAY.

THE FIRST WAS ON ROUTE 22 IN NEW

LEBANON, WHERE TWO CARS COLLIDED

AND TOOK OUT A UTILITY POLE. THE

SECOND WAS ON PRATT HILL ROAD IN

AUSTERLITZ, WHERE A CAR ROLLED

OVER. IN BOTH ACCIDENTS, THE

INJURIES WERE MINOR.

A CONVICTED SEX OFFENDER FROM

NEW LEBANON, WHO POLICE WERE

SEARCHING FOR LAST DECEMBER, WAS

IN COLUMBIA COUNTY COURT MONDAY.

34 YEAR OLD RUSSELL MEYER WAS

ARRAIGNED ON CHARGES OF FAILURE

TO REGISTER AS A SEX OFFENDER.

A TRIAL DATE WAS SET FOR AUGUST.

A DOMESTIC INCIDENT IN COPAKE ENDED

WITH A HILLSDALE MAN IN THE COLUMBIA

COUNTY JAIL. 29 YEAR OLD DANIEL

MARTIN WAS CHARGED BY COLUMBIA COUNTY

SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES WITH CRIMINAL

MISCHIEF, HARASSMENT, AND CHILD

ENDANGERMENT. BAIL WAS SET AT 2500

DOLLARS.

A VERMONT MAN IS BEING HELD ON CHARGES

OF BAIL JUMPING BY STATE POLICE. 33

YEAR OLD JOSHUA JEWETT WAS PICKED UP

ON ROUTE 20 IN NEW LEBANON MONDAY.
