ONE OF THE FOUR DEFENDANTS, SENTENCED

TO LIFE IN PRISON FOR MOLESTING CHILDREN,

HAS HAD HER APPEAL DENIED BY THE STATE'S

HIGHEST COURT. JEANINE VAN ALPHEN WAS

ONE OF FOUR FOUND GUILTY IN COLUMBIA

COUNTY COURT IN 2016 OF SEXUALLY ABUSING

SEVERAL CHILDREN OVER THE COURSE OF

SEVERAL YEARS.

VOTERS WHO BRAVED THE SNOW TUESDAY,

APPROVED THE 40.8 MILLION DOLLAR

CAPITAL CONSTRUCTION PROJECT IN THE

CATSKILL CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT.

FINAL NUMBERS WERE 308 YES, 259 NO.

THE SNOW ON TUESDAY KEPT AREA POLICE

AND TOW COMPANIES VERY BUSY, WITH

SEVERAL DOZEN ACCIDENTS ACROSS

COLUMBIA AND GREENE COUNTIES.

THE MORE SERIOUS ACCIDENTS WERE ON

COUNTY ROUTE 8 IN CLERMONT, PLATTE

CLOVE ROAD IN TANNERSVILLE, ROUTE 23B

IN GREENPORT, AND ON THE THRUWAY IN

CATSKILL.

THE NEW JERSEY MAN, THAT WAS

ARRESTED DURING A 2017 DRUG RAID IN

CHATHAM, WAS SENTENCED IN COLUMBIA

COUNTY COURT. 42 YEAR OLD LAWRENCE

POSEY WILL SERVE 4 TO 5 YEARS IN

PRISON. HE PLEAD GUILTY TO THE

CHARGES LAST YEAR.

A HUDSON WOMAN FACES DRUG CHARGES

IN CATSKILL. 46 YEAR OLD WENDY HINES

WAS CHARGED BY VILLAGE POLICE WITH

CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED

SUBSTANCE. SHE WAS GIVEN APPEARANCE

TICKETS FOR COURT.

THE HUDSON SALVATION ARMY IS HOLDING

ANOTHER FOOD PANTRY THIS MORNING AT THE

SOCIAL SERVICES BUILDING IN HUDSON.

IT RUNS FROM 8 TO NOON FOR SNAP RECIPIENTS

OR FOR ANYONE IN NEED.
