FOUR PEOPLE ARE UNDER ARREST, AFTER A TUESDAY NIGHT DRUG RAID ON ATLANTIC AVENUE IN STOTTVILLE. 35 YEAR OLD THOMAS CONFER AND 33 YEAR OLD MEAGAN SVIDA FACE FELONY DRUG POSSESSION CHARGES.BOTH WERE SENT TO THE COLUMBIA COUNTY JAIL. 39 YEAR OLD CHARLEY CINTRON WAS ARRESTED ON A FAMILY COURT WARRANT,AND 39 YEAR OLD ROGER DELEASE WAS CHARGED WITH LOITERING. THE COLUMBIA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE SEIZED HEROIN AND CRACK COCAINE.


A GERMANTOWN BARN IS A TOTAL LOSS,AFTER A WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON FIRE.OVER HALF A DOZEN COMPANIES WERE CALLED TO 4781 ROUTE 9G AROUND 5:45. SEVERAL FIREFIGHTERS WERE TREATED FOR HEAT EXHAUSTION. SOME PROPANE TANKS IN THE BARN EXPLODED. SMOKE FROM THE FIRE MADE IT TO CATSKILL. THE BARN WAS FULLY INVOLVED ON ARRIVAL. THE CAUSE IS UNDER INVESTIGATION.


THE GREENE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE SAYS IT WILL BEGIN ENFORCING PARKING VIOLATIONS AT TWO SWIMMING HOLES ON ROUTE 23 IN CATSKILL. VIOLATORS WILL ALSO BE TICKETED FOR TRESSPASS. THE ACTION FOLLOWS THE DROWNING LAST WEEK OF AN ALBANY TEEN.


MEANWHILE, CAIRO POLICE ANNOUNCED YESTERDAY, THAT SWIMMING WILL NOT BE ALLOWED AT THE WOODSTOCK DAM OFF ROUTE 32. CONCRETE BARRIERS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED, WHERE PEOPLE HAD BEEN DRIVING TO THE AREA.

GREENE COUNTY FIREFIGHTERS WERE CALLED TO TWO VEHICLE FIRES YESTERDAY. THE FIRST WAS ON GOSHEN STREET IN JEWETT, THE SECOND WAS AT THE THRUWAY REST STOP IN NEW BALTIMORE.
