Ford Delivers Masks, Face Shields to Capital Region Hospitals

Ford Posts Increase In Quarterly Profits

The Ford Motor Company is busy these days and not selling cars. A division of the company is manufacturing face masks and face shields for hospitals across the country and the Capital Region.

Albany Med, St. Peters and Albany Memorial Hospital have received the protective equipment. Jim Newton is a D-Ford Maker Space Coach, he tells WGY News that they've made and delivered 200,000 masks and shields so far. He also says that talks are on going with Ellis Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital.

"Keeping our colleagues, patients and families safe is critical during these unprecedented times as we battle COVID-19 in our communities," said Steven Hanks, MD, chief clinical officer for St. Peter's Health Partners. "At St. Peter's Health Partners we are overwhelmed with gratitude for Ford Motor Company, which has made a huge difference in an international time of need. Their production and delivery of 3,000 face shields to St. Peter's Health Partners is a blessing and we cannot thank them enough."

The face shields are being delivered in partnership with HealthTrust, a leading healthcare performance optimization organization.
