Regular commuters on the Rip Van Winkle Bridge know how one accident can really mess traffic up.
This morning, there were two of them.
Greenport Fire and rescue were called to a two car accident just before 8:30. In that one, an elderly woman was checked out for head pain.
The second crash happened in the backup from the first accident. There were no injuries reported in that one.
It took a while for back-ups to ease, after the accidents were moved out of traffic.
State Police and Greenport Police were both on scene.
