Copake accident turns fatal

The serious two car accident in Copake has turned fatal.

The family of those involved in last night's accident on County Route 7a have confirmed that the young boy, who was airlifted to Albany Med, has died from his injuries.

They say his name was Caleb. His mother, Tina, was also taken to Albany Med by ambulance.

We're told the boy was 7.

The head-on crash closed County Route 7a for several hours.

The accident happened around 6:40.

We hope to get an official release from State Police soon.

The family has set up a go-fund-me page, to help the mom. Donate here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-tina-amp-family-following-tragic-accident?fbclid=IwAR0-MMRq60Ji1ypiLs1PwHPdDT34LtX33dXLLJG2wOcUpczt5-g4WYqhl2A

Here's what they said:

My cousin Tina was in a terrible head on collision last night with her son, Caleb, in the car...Tina sustained many injuries, thankfully nothing life threatening...unfortunately, Caleb didn’t make it. There are no words for how tragic this accident was for her and our family. We are welcoming any support for Tina and her family during this difficult time...no mother should have to endure the loss of their child.
